Foodies, get excited! Japan’s famous sushi restaurant Teruzushi will soon open in the capital at the luxurious new destination, Via Riyadh.
The sushi sensation is set to open at Via Mercato, a food hall concept where diners will be able to feast on cuisines from across the globe.
Teruzushi has over fifty years of history wowing guests at the humble local restaurant in Kitakyushu, Japan, and Via Riyadh will be the first permanent outlet outside of Japan.
At the helm of the restaurant, chef Akayoshi Watanabe, also known as sushibae, is the third generation of a family of chefs, as well as a martial artist, entertainer, and voracious traveler.
Guests can expect a theatrical dining experience with high-quality ingredients, wow-worthy presentation, and original creations including his most famous dish, the unagi burger: charcoal-grilled eel, wrapped around rice, sealed with fresh and crisp nori.
Chef Watanabe is also known for his unique omakase dinners, where he serves every piece of sushi to guests on the middle two fingers of his left hand, which has become his signature pose.
