It’s official. Motorsports fans listen up, the notoriously tough Dakar Rally is coming back for its sixth edition in Saudi Arabia.
Now extending its presence in the Kingdom by five more years (until 2030), Dakar will be debuting a new itinerary for the sixth edition of Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia from Sunday January 5 to Friday Janaury 17 2025.

The new route will take the pilots from the west side of the Saudi Arabian peninsula crossing the country and bringing them to the end at the Red Sea Beaches after leaving the Empty Quarter in the southeast. The presentation will then take place on Sunday May 18.

Dakar Rally 2024
Just last year, Saudi Arabia hosted the fifth edition of the Dakar Rally, the event saw more than 1,000 people racing for the finish line about 7,500 kilometres away. The new route started in the gorgeous city of AlUla with 60 per cent new tracks across all the stages.
The 2024 version of the rally will also introduce the new 48-hour stage which will take place in Rub’ al Khali. For the new stage, there will be a time limit for stopping (4pm) before you set off for the next day at 7am to complete the course.
