Meet the tennis stars of the future as the Next Gen ATP Finals returns to Jeddah this Dec
Tickets are now available on the WeBook platform…
Last year, the first-ever ATP Tour-sanctioned event took place on Saudi Arabian soil, which undoubtedly caused excitement – especially since the Next Gen ATP Finals has established itself on the tennis calendar over the last seven years.
Good news: Tennis fans in Saudi Arabia can once again catch a glimpse of the action at the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, taking place at the King Abdullah Sports City on indoor hard courts. The prestigious event returns to Jeddah for the second consecutive year, bringing together the world’s top emerging tennis talents from Wednesday December 18 to Sunday December 22.
Even better news: Tickets are now on sale as the city prepares to welcome the world’s eight best 20-and-under men’s tennis players from the ATP Tour to the Kingdom. Tickets and packages (1pm to 6pm, 7pm to 11.30pm, or full day) start from SAR30 and can be purchased via the WeBook platform.
Who will qualify?
For now, the eight qualifiers remain unknown. The top seven players qualify for the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF based on their Race to Jeddah ranking points accumulated throughout the 2024 ATP Tour season. The eighth place is reserved for a Wildcard entry.
The young stars of the game are currently competing in the final events of the ATP Challenger Tour season, hoping to capture the necessary points to compete for an increased US$2.05 million prize purse in Jeddah.
The final field will then be confirmed on Monday December 2. The eventual winner will join a star-studded list of Next Gen ATP Finals champions, including current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, four-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz, and 11-time ATP Tour winner Stefanos Tsitsipas.
What is the format?
The Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF is played in a round-robin format. The eight players are divided into two groups of four, with the top seed placed in Group A and the second seed in Group B. Players seeded third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth are then drawn in pairs and placed in each group. The top two players in each group will advance to the knockout semi-finals, with the winner of Group A facing the runner-up from Group B and vice versa.
Played in a unique, fast-paced format with innovative rules, the Next Gen ATP Finals offer a glimpse into the future of tennis, pushing boundaries and enhancing the fan experience.
What is the schedule for the Next Gen ATP Finals?
Main Draw round-robin matches: Wednesday December 18 to Friday December 20, with the afternoon session at 2pm and evening session at 7pm.
Semi-final: Saturday December 21 at 7pm.
Final: Sunday December 22 at 8pm.
Alongside the thrilling on-court action, this year’s event will also be hosting fan zones and entertainment activities, making it a must-attend for families and tennis enthusiasts alike.
