Saudia adds extra flights to The Red Sea destination - but only for a limited time

It’s not too late for a domestic escape

If you’ve been thinking about escaping the city over Eid Al-Fitr, getting to one of Saudi Arabia’s most popular destinations has just become easier.

Saudia has announced additional flights to Red Sea International Airport ahead of the holiday period, responding to increased demand from travellers planning quick Eid getaways.

Saudia Red Sea flight schedule

The airline will operate 20 additional flights between Riyadh, Jeddah, and The Red Sea destination between Saturday March 21 and Saturday March 28 to help meet the surge in demand during the busy Eid travel period.

With the additional services, the total number of flights on these routes will increase to 44 during that period.

The move comes through a collaboration between Saudia, the Saudi Tourism Authority and Red Sea Global, the developer behind the ambitious tourism project on Saudi Arabia’s west coast.

A quick look at Saudia.com shows that you can book a trip to The Red Sea for under SAR1,500, with direct flights leaving from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.

Meanwhile, if you’re flying from Jeddah, the cheapest non-stop fares to Red Sea International Airport are currently appearing from around SAR1,160, depending on dates and availability.

Moreover, passengers travelling to The Red Sea destination will enjoy an “integrated guest experience”, featuring AI-powered digital tools for personalised trip planning, smoother airport procedures and an onboard service that blends authentic Saudi hospitality with a diverse entertainment selection for all ages.

Plenty to see and do at The Red Sea…

The Red Sea destination represents one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious regenerative tourism projects.

The Red Sea

Red Sea International Airport is located 13 kilometres inland on the country’s northwestern coast, providing access to nine luxury resorts now open to visitors.

These include Desert Rock, with suites carved into surrounding cliffs just a 30-minute drive from the airport, and Six Senses Southern Dunes, around an hour away. Additional openings, such as Shebara, featuring overwater villas, and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, further underscore the destination’s luxury positioning.

Additionally, Shura Island has launched with three operational hotels, including SLS, The Red Sea EDITION and InterContinental, with eight more resorts set to open within the next year.

Six Senses The Red Sea

Upon full completion in 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts, housing 8,000 hotel keys and over 1,000 residential units across 22 islands and six inland sites, all powered entirely by renewable energy.

Beyond the resorts themselves, the destination is slowly building a line-up of experiences, too. Golfers can play a round at Shura Links, while adventure enthusiasts can visit Adrena, The Red Sea’s new adventure and entertainment district featuring over 20 land and water activities, including the largest surf pool.

With Eid approaching and more travellers looking for quick, feel-good escapes, the additional flights could be the perfect excuse for a spontaneous long weekend getaway.
