The event features a variety of independent film screenings for the general public, all presented in the centre’s outdoor area. You can expect a diverse program featuring screenings of art documentaries and animations. The movies on display include Nam June Paik: Moon is the Oldest TV, Van Gogh and Japan, Omar Sharif: A Nomad’s Life, The King and Mister Bird, and The Prince Voyage.
The Art Films Week reflects Fenaa Alawwal’s overall mission of bringing together thinkers, creatives, and individuals with diverse talents, to try and cultivate a space for exchange of knowledge and cross-cultural dialogue.
Located in the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ), the cultural and creative hub is housed inside the historic building of the former headquarters of Al Awwal Bank, the first commercial bank to operate in the Kingdom.
As part of Vision 2030 efforts to promote “culture as a way of life” and to create opportunities for global cultural exchange, the Saudi Ministry of Culture has repurposed the building as a multidisciplinary cultural space
Doors to the outdoor film seating will be open from 5pm to 10pm every day, and you can book your tickets through Webook for SAR30.
