Here's what to expect from NUMAJ, AlUla's upcoming luxury hotel

The highly anticipated Autograph Collection hotel is officially moving from concept to construction

If you haven’t heard, AlUla’s hotel scene is about to become even more exciting. NUMAJ, the much-anticipated Autograph Collection property, is moving closer to opening, bringing a new kind of luxury stay to the desert destination.

The upcoming hotel marks a major step in AlUla’s ongoing transformation, as the destination continues to evolve into one of Saudi Arabia’s most compelling places to visit.

With construction now underway, the project is moving from concept to reality, adding fresh momentum to the growing pipeline of high-end openings.

Set to welcome guests in 2027, NUMAJ – designed by GioForma, the architects behind the iconic Maraya – will feature 250 rooms that are deeply connected to AlUla’s dramatic landscape.

Rather than a traditional resort setup, the experience is expected to focus on a more immersive stay, where architecture, natural light and surroundings all play a role in shaping the atmosphere.

The hotel will cater to both leisure and business travellers, with plenty on offer, from five dining venues to wellness facilities focused on relaxation.

In addition, guests can look forward to a spa, gym, two swimming pools, retail spaces, and a conference centre. The lobby will also feature a rock collection showcasing AlUla’s geological diversity, offering a captivating glimpse into the region’s natural heritage.

Sustainability is also a key focus, with the hotel targeting LEED Gold certification and incorporating eco-conscious features such as greywater reuse for irrigation, UV-resistant glazing to control indoor temperatures, and energy-efficient lighting, in line with AlUla’s Dark Sky policy. Landscaping will be water-efficient, and many building materials will be locally sourced.

First revealed in May last year, NUMAJ takes its name from a star system historically linked to the region, and the concept is rooted in ideas of discovery and navigation. That narrative is set to carry through the design, creating a stay that feels both grounded in place and distinctly different.

With its opening on the horizon, NUMAJ is set to become one of AlUla’s most exciting new addresses.
