More about Saudia Airlines

Travelling with Saudia Airlines? You’ll be excited to know that the airline has recently launched free Wi-Fi on board all its flights. The service will be offered free of charge to all passengers and provide a seamless connection with speeds of up to 300 megabits per second, with the potential of going up to 800 megabits per second in the future. Through the new flight feature, fliers will soon be able to browse the internet, watch live streams, and hold virtual meetings through various applications without interruption. The new rules will also allow the use of multiple devices at the same time and, for a seamless experience, the easy switching between them.

Based out of Jeddah, Saudia Airlines first started in 1945 with just a single twin-engine DC-3 (Dakota) HZ-AAX, given to King Abdul Aziz as a gift by the then US President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This was followed months later by the purchase of two more DC-3s, which formed the basis of what, in a few years, would become one of the world’s largest airlines.
