This online exhibition showcases Saudi art made in lockdown
See works of art from both professional and amateur artists…
Ozla Art has launched a virtual art exhibition in Saudi Arabia called The Art of Isolation.
It is the first exhibition of its kind in Saudi Arabia and is supported by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture. It will enable viewers to be able to see works of art from both professional and amateur artists from the safety of their homes. You can view the exhibitions here.
The exhibition comes at a time when artists are self-isolating but are still hard at it creating fantastic works of art.
Echoing this, you will find these Arabic words written at each virtual exhibition, “It is said that isolation can be fertile ground to cultivate a person’s artistic side and act as food for the free spirit. For this reason, we have used our isolation to show our solidarity. In the exhibition The Art of Isolation, everyone has a right to spark their creativity.”
At the moment, you can virtually visit a range of galleries that contain art ranging from Arabic calligraphy to isolation portraits, abstract art and more.
There’s even an exhibition dedicated to the famous painter and sculptor, Dia Aziz Diais – one of the Kingdom’s most outstanding artist. He is the sculptor behind the “Gate of Mecca”, also known as Quran Gate, which he designed back in in 1979.
The virtual tour will also you to look around the gallery, and if you want to view a work of art closer, you can click on it and get details on the artist as well as the painting.
