Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, arrived in Abu Dhabi to offer his condolences following the death of the late UAE President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in the UAE capital on Monday evening and was welcomed by newly appointed President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan at the Presidential Airport.
President Sheikh Mohamed also sent well wishes to Saudi’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who recently underwent medical tests and surgery in the kingdom, and thanked the Crown Prince for his support.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is the most senior Saudi royal to visit the UAE following the death of Sheikh Khalifa. On his visit, he met with Emirati ministers and officials: Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman joins a long list of heads of state, members of various royal families and prominent politicians who have paid their respects to the visionary leader in person.
The distinguished guests include Britain’s Prince William, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, US Vice President Kamala Harris, French President Emmanuel Macron and King Felipe VI of Spain.
Following the passing of Sheikh Khalifa, Saudi Press Agency issued a statement that Saudi leaders “expressed their deepest condolences and sympathy to the government of the United Arab Emirates, the honorable Al Nahyan family, the brotherly Emirati people, and to the Arab and Islamic nations on passing away of a leader who has given a lot to his people, nation and the world”.
