Delve deeper into Islamic Arts
Art lovers, Sotheby’s is partnering with the Public Programs of the 2025 edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale to present a special series of free educational talks and workshops from April 6 to May 15. Covering a broad range of topics, from the rich cultural legacy of Islamic textiles and crafts to the enduring legacy of Islamic art across the globe and The Garden of Eden, these talks will aim to illuminate the richness of artistic tradition. On Sunday April 6, there will be a lecture with Sotheby’s Benedict Carter and V&A curator Mariam Rosser Owen exploring the impact of Islamic art on global artistic traditions. Through an exploration of motifs, techniques, and ideas, the talk will uncover how Islamic art shaped the artistic movements worldwide and highlight how artistic exchange transcends borders. Following the lecture, visitors will join Benedict and Mariam for a tour of the Biennale.
