And if you’re a religious traveller, you’re in luck as this bus route in Madinah takes you directly to the Prophet’s Mosque for under SAR10. Here’s what to know about the Madinah Bus Route 400.
Running between Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Prophet’s Mosque, the Madinah Bus Route 400 operates 24 hours a day, enabling beneficiaries to travel easily between the two destinations at any time, as confirmed by the Madinah Region Development Authority.

The operation of the route is part of Madinah’s public transport system, which aims to provide convenient mobility options for residents, visitors, and Umrah pilgrims. The tickets cost SAR3.45. You can book your tickets through the Madinah Bus mobile app on both the App Store and Google Play. Alternatively, you can also use the vending machine to issue a card (SAR10) and recharge it via cash or credit/debit cards.
The Madinah Bus project serves a network of various routes covering all parts of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah through a set of scheduled round-trip trips. There are 116 stations that cover most attractions in the city, connected by five main routes serving the area with a range of modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities and prepared to serve people with special needs.
Apart from Route 400, the rest of the routes operate for 16 hours daily, starting from 6am until 10pm throughout the week.
Guidelines to enter the Prophet’s Mosque
The new guidelines for visiting the Prophet’s Mosque start with visitors entering with their right foot and saying the prescribed dua upon entering. Once inside, avoid raising your voice, maintain calmness and dignity, and send peace upon the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions (RA).It is recommended to lead with the left foot while reciting the prescribed dua.
