A world-class tennis destination is coming to Qiddiya City
With 30 courts, a 15,000-seat centre court and space for concerts too, Qiddiya’s new National Tennis Centre is set to serve up something special
Tennis fans, this one’s for you. Qiddiya has unveiled plans for the National Tennis Centre, a huge new sports destination that could firmly place Saudi Arabia on the international tennis map.
Located next to a Sir Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole Championship golf course in Qiddiya City – Saudi Arabia’s capital of entertainment, sport, and culture – the National Tennis Centre is set to become the region’s largest tennis complex.
And we’re not talking about a handful of courts. The development will feature 30 tennis courts, including 28 hard courts and two clay courts, integrated into the dramatic landscape of Qiddiya City, with layered green facades woven into the surrounding Tuwaiq Mountains.
In addition, the National Tennis Centre will house elite training and wellness facilities, a vibrant public realm, and two multi-purpose arenas with retractable roofs for climate control, capable of hosting everything from international tournaments to concerts and live events.

Construction is already underway, with the project being designed by Populous, a renowned sports architecture firm behind some of the world’s most recognisable sporting venues.
At the heart of the complex will be the flagship arena, a 15,000-seat Centre Court with a retractable roof, comparable in scale to some of the sport’s biggest venues worldwide.
There will also be an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena with a retractable roof, along with 5,000- and 2,000-seat show courts, bringing the site’s total seating capacity to around 33,000.
A world-class venue for international tennis
Designed to meet ATP, WTA, and ITF standards, the National Tennis Centre will be among the most advanced tennis complexes in the world.
But this isn’t just about attracting the world’s best players.
The largest tennis facility of its kind in the region is also expected to play a major role in growing the sport locally, with facilities for community programmes, junior development and high-performance training.
Plans include a dedicated training centre featuring a gym, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy suites, players’ lounges, and athlete recovery and wellness spaces, all designed to support the next generation of Saudi tennis talent.
Even if you’ve never picked up a racket, there will still be plenty of reasons to visit. Public spaces, activated fan zones, a fan plaza, cultural activations, and community courts are all part of the plans, helping to turn the venue into a year-round destination rather than a place that’s only busy during tournaments.
The development joins a growing list of headline attractions coming to Qiddiya City. Following the recent opening of Six Flags and Aquarabia, the city is also preparing to welcome major sporting, entertainment and cultural venues, including PlayMaker Studios, the Speed Park Track, the innovative Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, a Sir Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole championship golf course, The Qiddiya City Horse Racing Venue, the world’s first dedicated Gaming & Esports District; and the Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre.
Game, set, watch this space for one of Saudi Arabia’s most exciting new sporting landmarks.
