Watch: Saudi Arabia invites residents to holiday in the country
The summer campaign highlights ten locations across the country…
Had you ever given much consideration to keeping it a bit closer to home when it comes to a holiday? Well, it’s definitely worth thinking about, as Saudi Arabia has so much to offer. A new summer tourism campaign has launched in the country – and it looks great.
The campaign is promoting domestic travel within the country for those who are residents of Saudi Arabia. A cool video has been released online to give holidaymakers a taste of everything that the region has to offer, from cultural sites, to idyllic beaches.
It was launched by the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and is named ‘Tanafas’ which means ‘breathe’ in Arabic. In light of travel restrictions due to COVID-19, it encourages those living in Saudi Arabia to holiday in their own country.

In the campaign, which runs from June 25 to September 30, 2020, ten of Saudi Arabia’s awesome locations have been highlighted in the clip. They are Jeddah and KAEC; Abha; Tabuk; Khobar, Dammam and Ahsa; Al Baha; Al Taif; Yanbu and Umluj; and Riyadh.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the STA, said “Saudi Summer comes as a wonderful opportunity to discover multiple tourist destinations in KSA, alongside its historical, natural and cultural treasures.”
He continued, “The campaign also contributes to enhancing efforts by the Ministry of Tourism to revive the tourism sector, which was most affected by the repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis.”
The region is on track to promoting itself as a top travel destination, for people from all over the world, as part of the Saudi Vision 2020.
Al Khateeb said, “The tourism sector resumes its activities with a renewed spirit and great hopes for moving forward at an accelerated pace, to achieve our aspirations in harmony with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to pursue economic diversification, attract investments, increase revenues and create job opportunities for citizens.”
