Al Hamra Palace in Jeddah will have an imposing presence, not only thanks to its significant history and awe-inspiring architecture, but also because the iconic palace-turned-hotel will be decorated with grand interiors and bespoke furnishings that showcase the Kingdom’s rich heritage.

The opulent property will be managed by Boutique Group, Saudi Arabia’s very own luxury hospitality brand that converts a collection of iconic historic palaces in the Kingdom into ultra-luxury boutique hotels.

Here’s everything you can expect from Al Hamra Palace upon completion, although no opening date has been announced yet.

A collaboration between international architecture design firm OBMI, alongside the world-renowned French interior designer Jacques Garcia, Al Hamra Palace will be transformed to give guests a rare glimpse into majestic living.

It will be home to 48 suites and 44 villas, complete with impeccable butler service and regal gardens. Those looking for a relaxing stay will be impressed by the palace’s six spas. Plans for six fine-dining restaurants are also included.

Nestled along Jeddah’s captivating corniche, the palace reflects a fascinating mix of traditional architectural inspirations from Islamic Hijazi with Neo-classical elements. The influence can be seen in its arched gateways, slanted roofs and a facade crafted from Riyadh stone.

The design for the new ultra-luxury hotel will pay homage to the original structure featuring traditional Hijazi architecture, while still preserving much of its original charm and grandeur. Guests can expect to be welcomed to palatial elegance and gracious Saudi hospitality.

According to Jacques Garcia, the well-known French interior designer, his inspiration stems from the existing Islamic architecture of the palace combined with the marvellous essence of old Jeddah and its Hijazi influence.

From fusing these elements to adding diverse colours and luminous shades, this thoughtfully crafted interior melds a touch of oriental elegance with a rejuvenating environment.

Al Hamra Palace current

Al Hamra Palace is a unique destination. Built as a royal residence for King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, upon its completion and at his request, Al Hamra Palace became a royal hospitality palace where the Kingdom could offer its most generous hospitality to its honoured guests, including presidents of Arab and Islamic nations, figures like Richard Nixon, Diana, Princess of Wales, and the current King Charles the Third.

And soon, you too can feel like the royalty you know you were always meant to be by staying in Al Hamra Palace.

Mark De Cocinis, CEO of Boutique Group, commented, “Working with internationally renowned design firms like OBMI and Jacques Garcia is an important and essential step in developing the project following the highest standards of development and sustainability while staying true to the rich cultural roots of Al Hamra Palace.”
