A Winter Wonderland awaits: Trojena Ski Village designs unveiled
It’s the world’s first vertical ski village…
When TROJENA was first announced, it was described as a destination that would ‘redefine mountain tourism.’ And it’s doing just that. Plans for the Trojena Ski Village were just announced.
Set to be designed by Aedas Architects, the destination is envisioned as the world’s first “vertical ski village” and snow destination in the GCC with year-round adventure sports

Scheduled for completion in 2026, according to Commercial Interior Design, the retreat will include year-round skiing (including three months on snow, and year-round synthetic “dry” skiing), retail stores, restaurants, mansions, apartments and several luxury hotels run by prestigious operators including Raffles, Collective Retreats and more.
The project is set for completion by 2026, and by 2030 expects to welcome 700,000 visitors per year and 7,000 permanent residents.
Ignacio Gomez, Aedas Global Design Principal says “For millennia, ski villages have had the same formula with multiple plots and buildings connected by roads. We challenged this convention by asking if the village could be a building. This led us to dream up a superstructure with the scale of a village but with all the connections and mobility happening vertically across several levels.”
The year-round tourist destination will be divided into six districts: Gateway, Discover, Valley, Explore, Relax and Fun, all of which will offer a diverse array of activities and experiences.
Other hotels coming to the destination include global brands like W Hotel, The Chedi, and Anantara.
